It’s all relative. A sentence I first heard in the hit-series Generation Kill, a.k.a. the best military series to ever hit your television screen, a show about the first recon marines of the United State Marine Corps entering Iraq in a couple of open top humvees trying to get to conquer Iraq.
Now during their trip they were accompanied by a Rolling Stone journalist who was… well afraid of almost everything. At a certain moment the recon is taking heavy fire and the journalists decides to dodge behind a while. A lieutanant named Nate Fick walks up to him and tells the journalist that right now the journalist is dodged behind a wheel making it impossible for him to get hit by a bullet so that makes Iraq a save country for the journalist at that given moment. Walking away and screaming it’s all relative.
Now these couple of words are able to be used in almost every situation.
Your regular Boeing 747 is big but compared to a Antonov 225 it’s a pretty small plane.
Saying that you are starving once you haven’t had dinner at 8 o’clock thinking about millions of people around the globe who haven’t eaten in days.
Now I can write down a lot more of these examples but I won’t I will just tell you that next time something happens just think. It’s all relative
Nate Fick was Lieutenant(not Sergeant) =)
… and yes, it’s all relative!
